About

Werner Gruner has been serving in various capacities in the financial and health care industry.

In 2019 he became CEO of Radioisotope Life Sciences (RLS) that became the third largest nuclear medicine pharmacy network in the US, after a successful buyout from GE Healthcare in September 2020. He lead the company until September 2022 with a focus on driving growth and increasing profitability while maintaining service reliability and compliance.

While engaging in the buyout from GE Healthcare in 2019, Werner also lead the buyout of Swiss banking group SYZ’s Bahamas subsidiary, now called Nexor of which remains a Managing Partner.

Capitor, an international boutique investment group he founded in 2017 and currently chairs, structured the GE Healthcare nuclear pharmacy network buyout and brought the deal to investors. It continues to manage investment strategies that focus on disruption of archaic business models mainly through implementation of cutting-edge technology and good teams.

For his contribution to the Financial Services industry in The Bahamas, Werner was recognized with the “Professional of the Year” award in 2012, presented by Minister of Financial Services, the Honorable Ryan Pinder and the Bahamas Financial Services Board.

Prior to his current roles, he served as Director at Julius Baer and worked at other international banks, including Credit Suisse, where he started his career in 2001 and obtained a Certificate in Banking.

Born in South Africa, to South African and Swiss parents, Werner attained an acute focus on the improvement of third-world nations over the course of his life and has completed analysis-expeditions to various emergent countries including Kenya, Afghanistan and Myanmar.

In 2012, he established the Starlight Global Foundation, now Starlight Global, Inc., with a mission to empower people by investing in their education, culture and economic autonomy. The Foundation has supported notable events and projects in South Africa and The Bahamas.

Werner is fluent in English, German and Afrikaans and resides in Nassau with his wife, Kimberly and daughter, Grace. In his spare time, he enjoys diving and piloting small aircrafts.
